Suhr Guitars proudly introduces the new lan Thornley Classic T, built in Lake Elsinore, California and designed to reflect the tone, feel, and uncompromising attitude of one of modern rock’s most powerful and respected players.
As the driving force behind Big Wreck, lan Thornley has built a legendary reputation on massive tone, fearless musicianship, and emotionally charged performances. Known equally for crushing riffs and expressive, dynamic lead work, lan’s style demands an instrument that is raw, refined, and relentlessly musical.
This new Classic T delivers exactly that combining vintage-inspired design with modern Suhr performance. The lan Thornley Classic T features a Classic T body shape crafted from genuine mahogany with a smooth satin finish and a classic pickguard design that nods to tradition while fitting lan’s bold aesthetic.
A mahogany neck with an ebony fingerboard is shaped to lan’s own V profile (.875-.970) with a 16” radius and jumbo stainless steel frets, offering exceptional comfort, stability, and control. Loaded with an SSV neck pickup and SSH+ bridge pickup, along with a 3-way toggle, volume and tone, and a push-pull coil split, this guitar covers everything from warm, expressive cleans to searing high-gain authority.

“While it has the same basic ingredients as the Lumberjack, the Television does not sound or react in quite the same way. Having had the chance to tour with it, we found the Television to be a little bit more refined than the LJ, while still retaining the same essential voice. The little changes like the pickup selector and omitting the middle pickup really bode well in the heat of battle. There are many many sounds to be discovered in the middle position, and in a studio setting these adjustments can make a big difference in an overall guitar sound.
