TO EXPLORE

Experience chorus in a whole new way. Alexa’s six onboard wave-forms offer a comprehensive palate of vintage and modern chorus sounds.

TWO CHANNELS ARE BETTER THAN ONE

With Alexa’s two independent channels, you can easily preset two distinct chorus/vibrato sounds. For example, Channel A can be a traditional warm and smooth chorus, while Channel B is set to a fast vintage rotary.

Switching between two different sounds has never been easier.

TWEAKERS WELCOME

Alexa features a comprehensive palette of controls that are musical and easy to use. Each channel is equipped with dedicated wave-form, speed, delay, and depth controls to give you complete control over fine-tuning your sound.

100% PURE ANALOG SIGNAL PATH

A combination of vintage technology and modern engineering is the foundation which Alexa was built upon. The heart of Alexa’s signal path employs a 3207 BBD (bucket brigade device) to deliver all of the warm analog tones that vintage choruses are revered for. Innovative engineering ensures the purest analog tone, with ultra-quiet performance.

EXPRESS YOURSELF

You can vary the speed control in real-time by simply connecting an external expression pedal or tap tempo footswitch.

Hover your mouse over the icon (or tap on mobile) to get to know Alexa’s controls, functions and features.

WAVEFORMS

Alexa contains six musical waveforms to choose from when dialing in a chorus/vibrato setting.

Triangle WaveTriangle: Smooth, lush chorus.

Sine WaveSine: Throbbing, even pitch bends.

RotaryRotary: Swirling rotary speaker emulation.

PhotocellPhotocell: Asymmetrical shape and sound.

Ramp DownRamp Down: Rhythmic downward modulation.

Triangle WaveRamp Up: Rhythmic upward modulation.

SPEED CONTROL

Adjusts the speed at which the modulation occurs. Turning the knob clockwise sets the speed to up to 10Hz. Turning the knob counter clockwise sets the speed down to 1/2Hz.

DELAY CONTROL

Adjusts the delay point that chorus modulates around. This ranges from 10ms to 40ms.

Tip: Increasing the Delay typically gives a “wider” sound. If the chorus’s pitch wobbles too dramatically, counteract by decreasing the Depth control to keep a smoother chorus sound.

DEPTH CONTROL

The depth knob reduces (counter clockwise) or boosts (clockwise) the amount of modulation.

CHORUS/VIBRATO SWITCH

This switch is only active on channel A. This allows you to turn Channel A into a vibrato effect (pitch bending).

ON/OFF SWITCH

Stepping on the ON/OFF footswitch to bypasses the effect. Alexa is capable of running in true bypass or buffered bypass modes. See the user guide for more information.

A/B SWITCH

Alexa has two channels (green and red) with independent settings that are selected by the switch labeled A/B. The channels can be set for the same sound on each channel with slight modifications, or they can be radically different.

The left side is Channel 1 and is indicated by a
GREEN LED.

The right side is Channel 2 and is indicated a
RED LED.

INPUT CONNECTION

Plug the cable from your guitar into here, or from the previous effect’s output.

OUTPUT CONNECTIONS

Alexa is capable of running in stereo or mono.

Tip: To operate in stereo, the pedal must be set to buffered bypass mode (see user guide). If the pedal is set to true bypass, only the L (mono) output will be active. The pedal is shipped in buffered bypass mode by default.

EXP/TAP CONNECTION

Alexa’s chorus speed can be controlled via an Expression pedal in Ex-pression mode, or a Momentary Switch in Tap Tempo mode through the 1/4” TRS jack located on the right side of the pedal. The function of the EXP/TAP jack is determined by an internal slide switch.

POWER CONNECTION

Alexa is powered by a 9V DC, center negative, 55mA (minimum), power supply (not included).

Tip: Alexa requires a REGULATED DC power supply and is not designed to be operated with a battery.

BUF/TRU-BYP SWITCH

Alexa can be operated in buffered or true bypass modes. After setting the bypass switch, the pedal must be restarted by powering it off and back on.

Tip: The true bypass feature is dedicated for the left output only. When using Alexa in stereo, please set the pedal to buffer bypass, which is located on a switch on the inside of the pedal. When turning the effect off in true by-pass, the Right channel is disconnected from the input. Buffer Bypass mode sends a buffered signal through both outputs, and is the mode that should be used for stereo scenarios. Alexa is shipped in buffer bypass mode.

TAP/EXP SWITCH

Alexa’s chorus speed can be controlled via an Expression pedal in Ex-pression mode, or a Momentary Switch in Tap Tempo mode through the 1/4” TRS jack located on the right side of the pedal. The function of the EXP / TAP jack is determined by an internal slide switch. When set to (TAP), the jack takes a mono cable to a momen-tary switch. When set to (EXP), the jack takes a stereo cable to an ex-pression pedal.

Tip: When changing modes, the pedal must be powered off before taking effect.

Alexa allows you to explore analog modulation like never before with six onboard waveforms. You have the freedom to experience warm and traditional choruses, swirling rotary effects, a vibey photo cell, and innovative ramping waveforms.

TRIANGLE WAVE

Smooth modulation. Good for a smooth lush chorus with less noticeable pitch bending.

SINE WAVE

Sinewave modulation can give a throb sound, and is a great waveform for Vibrato, as the pitch bends evenly.

ROTARY

This waveform is a custom shape used to emulate the swirling sound of a rotary speaker.

PHOTO CELL

This waveform has a pulsing assymetrical shape that emulates a vibey photocell throb effect.

RAMP DOWN

Ramping the modulation downward results in a rhythmic effect that is delay-like on sustained notes.
